The development of the world's largest biomass power plant
In 2011, the world's largest biomass power plant settled in Zhanjiang, causing many people to surprise themselves. At that time, biomass power generation was still a very unattractive industry, but after nearly six years of development, the power output of the Zhanjiang power plant can now reach 650 million kWh per year.
Zhanjiang is the largest eucalyptus production base in China, and 4 million mu of eucalyptus can be cut every year. The eucalyptus has a short growth cycle and can be used to construct furniture, papermaking, etc. However, the remaining bark and branches cannot be used. It was impossible for everyone to avoid it. However, when the biomass power plant was built, these wastes became huge. In the fuel mines, among all the fuel-generating fuel materials, eucalyptus residues can account for 60%-70%, and abundant raw materials ensure adequate fuel supply.
In stark contrast to the black dust in the fields of traditional coal-fired power plants is the lush eucalyptus and fresh air in biomass power plants. Along the way, Zhanjiang Biomass Power Plant continues to innovate, and the technology has obtained national patents. The annual savings of coal can reach 280,000 tons. Although due to various restrictions, the economic benefits did not reach the highest peak, the success of the Zhanjiang biomass power plant proved a huge space for the development of biomass power generation.
